The Role

The Electrical Project Manager is a leadership position at the center of Kingdom Contracting's growth. You will serve as the primary client interface and field leader -- managing complex projects from contract award through closeout, directing journeymen and foremen, and partnering with ownership to protect schedules, margins, and relationships.

This is not just a desk role. You are present, visible, and invested -- in the work, in the people doing it, and in the clients counting on it. We are looking for someone who leads with both care and conviction. Someone who anticipates problems before they surface, protects the people and standards entrusted to them, and steps in decisively when clarity or direction is needed. You know how to read a room, how to hold a crew accountable with respect, and how to make a hard call without flinching.

What You'll Do

Lead Client Relationships

Serve as the primary client contact from contract award through project closeout
Maintain 95%+ client satisfaction through proactive communication and consistent follow-through
Resolve issues quickly to protect schedules, relationships, and Kingdom's reputation

Own Project Execution

Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and permits
Oversee material procurement and coordinate with suppliers -- no project stalls on your watch
Partner with the Field Operations Manager on crew deployment and logistics
Conduct jobsite inspections and ensure NEC, local code, and Kingdom quality standards are met

Lead and Develop Your Crew

Direct and mentor journeymen and foremen with technical credibility and clear expectations
Apply journeyman-level expertise to guide installations and troubleshooting
Hold crews accountable directly -- don't let issues linger or get passed along

Protect Revenue & Documentation

Identify scope changes during execution and convert them into approved change orders promptly
Maintain complete and current contracts, permits, change orders, and inspection records
Provide weekly project status updates to ownership and clients without being asked

Model Safety

Ensure OSHA compliance on every jobsite -- document protocols and report incidents the same day

What You Bring

Required

Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician License
3-5+ years of hands-on electrical field experience
1-7 years of project management or coordination experience
Commercial or multifamily experience
Proficiency in reading drawings, NEC code, and estimating/project management software
Clear, direct communication with crews, clients, GCs, and ownership
Valid driver's license
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform jobsite inspections

Preferred

Master Electrician or Contractor license
OSHA 10/30 certification
Familiarity with AccuBid, ConEst, or Bluebeam

What We Offer

Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000
Starting pay is set within this range based on your experience and qualifications.

Role overview

The Senior Electrical Project Manager is the accountable owner for the planning, execution, control and closeout of discrete electrical projects assigned to Kingdom Contracting. This role holds formal decision-making authority over project scope, budget allocations, staffing/resource assignments and schedule trade-offs and is answerable for delivering the agreed outcome to specification, on time and within budget.

The incumbent directs all project-level activities from initiation through commissioning and handover, including scope definition and change control, cost estimating and budget management, schedule development and recovery planning, quality assurance, risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement and final acceptance. The position is a single point of accountability for project performance and acceptance by internal sponsors and external clients.

Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)

Objective 1 — Deliver electrical projects to scope, schedule and budget: Key Results — Complete 95% of projects within ±5% of approved budget; achieve 90% of contractual milestones on or before baseline dates; obtain client acceptance within 15 business days of practical completion.
Objective 2 — Ensure quality and safety compliance: Key Results — Zero major non-conformances at handover; 100% of project personnel complete project-specific safety briefings before mobilization; reduce rework hours related to electrical scope by 30% vs. prior year baseline.
Objective 3 — Optimize resource utilization and cost-efficiency: Key Results — Maintain average billed utilization for project staff at >=85%; reduce subcontractor unit rates through negotiation by 5% on repeat items; achieve forecast accuracy (variance between estimate at completion and baseline) within ±7%.
Objective 4 — Enhance stakeholder satisfaction and commercial outcomes: Key Results — Client satisfaction score >=4.2/5 on post-project surveys; collect 95% of invoiced contract value within agreed payment terms; close project disputes within 60 days of notice 80% of the time.

Cost performance index (CPI) and percentage variance vs. approved project budget at closeout.

External: Mitigates delivery risks (supply chain, site constraints, regulatory approvals) by implementing contingency plans, securing approvals, and directing subcontractor performance to meet contractual commitments.

Key skills, abilities and knowledge required

Project leadership and decision-making: Demonstrated ability to take accountable decisions on scope, budget and resourcing and to justify trade-offs to sponsors and stakeholders.
Electrical technical competence: Deep knowledge of electrical systems, standards, construction methods, testing and commissioning practices relevant to building and industrial projects.
Cost estimating and financial control: Proficiency in preparing and defending estimates, managing budgets, forecasting EAC, and applying cost-control techniques.
Scheduling and critical-path management: Ability to develop, manage and recover complex project schedules using recognized methods and tools.
Contract and commercial management: Knowledge of common contract forms, variations/change control, claims management and client invoicing processes.
Risk management: Structured risk identification, quantification and mitigation planning, including contingency allocation and trigger-based responses.
Stakeholder and supplier management: Capability to negotiate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers, secure approvals, and sustain effective relationships under commercial pressure.
Quality and safety governance: Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, safety management systems and regulatory compliance requirements for electrical work.
Communication and reporting: Ability to present clear, concise status reports to senior management and clients, and to articulate program-level impacts of project decisions.

Authority, accountability and primary interfaces

The Senior Electrical Project Manager has authority to set the project plan, approve project-level changes within delegated financial limits, allocate project resources and subcontractor work packages, and to escalate issues beyond delegation for executive decision. The role is accountable to the assigned project sponsor and senior leadership for delivery outcomes. Primary interfaces include internal stakeholders (engineering, procurement, construction management, HSE, finance, contracts) and external stakeholders (clients, consultants, subcontractors, regulatory authorities and suppliers). Regular reporting cadence and decision gates will be observed as defined in Kingdom Contracting project governance.
